JaCIRT is in charge of coordinating responses to cyber threats impacting both public and private sectors. As the reactive branch of the CIRT division, it ensures a prompt and organized approach aimed at minimizing damage, reducing recovery time and costs, and securing an organization’s data.

Mission
To secure Jamaicans and Jamaica’s interests in cyberspace by ensuring increased cyber hygiene, cybersecurity awareness and resilience through the advancement of cyber incident response mechanisms, the development, promulgation and enforcement of standards, and the capability-based increase in cybersecurity capacity in ways that enhance economic security and improve our quality of life.

A Division under the Office of the Prime Minister established to deliver on the mandate outlined in the GOJ's National Cyber Security Strategy of 2015 to address matters regarding cyber threats and appropriate responses thereto.

National Security Operations Centre (NSOC)
Cybersecurity Capacity Building is central to our mission of increasing cybersecurity capabilities to enhance economic security and improve quality of life. This function strengthens the nation's ability to prevent, detect, respond to, and recover from cyber threats by fostering awareness campaigns, providing training, and creating educational opportunities. By building these capacities, we contribute to a more secure and resilient environment, protecting critical systems while supporting economic growth and overall societal well-being.
